Curriculum Vitæ


Jean-Philippe Bonzon is a Swiss designer. He actually lives and works between Switzerland and Shanghai. He studied in Switzerland, where he obtained his degree in Product and Industrial Design at "éc a l" the École Cantonal d'Art de Lausanne (University of Art and Design in Lausanne) in 2007. One year later, he won the prestigious Swiss Design Award Prize. After some work experience in New York, he moved to Shanghai in 2009.

He worked with severals architectural firms such as Neri&Hu and Line-House, before opening his own practice in 2014.

During the past years, he has exhibited his various works in New York (ICFF; Vitra’s Store), Cologne (IMM Köln Messe), Lausanne (MUDAC, Contemporary Art and Design Museum), in Milan (Salone del Mobile, Milano Furniture Fair) and many others...

It was with the project Staple Shelf, that he obtained a Swiss Federal Design Award and exhibited his work in Zurich (Bellerive Design Museum) Switzerland in 2008.

His objects stand out because of the choice and use of materials as well as his functional solutions with their tongue-in-cheek humor."

From there Jean-Philippe Bonzon works and meet a lot of designer, architects, influent in the contemporary creativity field. He works at the Chinese firm Neri&Hu in Shanghai, where he could develop works with different brands like Jia Inc, Parachilna, Gandia Blasco, Moooi, Camper, Stellar Works, De La Espada and many mores…

His design range includes homeware, accessories, furniture, lighting, packaging and interior design.
